(For treatment of submental fullness, "double chin")

What is KYBELLA®?

KYBELLA® is a modern age non-invasive neck sculpting technique alternative to traditional liposuction. KYBELLA® is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment for submental fullness (double chin). KYBELLA® is a naturally occurring substance (deoxycholic acid) that targets and permanently destroys fat cells in the area where it is injected.

How does KYBELLA® work?

The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

What can I expect during treatment?

At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin. The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat you have under your chin and your desired profile.

How many treatments do I need?

Since everyone's chin profile is different, the number of treatments varies from patient to patient. The amount of required treatment sessions are based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals.

Each KYBELLA® treatment session is given at least 1 month apart, and you should not receive more than 6 treatments. In clinical studies, 59% of patients received 6 treatments. Most patients need at least two treatments, spaced 6-8 weeks apart, to obtain noticeable improvement in their profile. The results of the treatment are permanent. Patients with loose skin or poor skin tone may not be suitable candidates for the procedure.

Is there recovery / down time associated with treatment?

After KYBELLA® treatment, you will likely have some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin. This can last for a few weeks and will vary from patient to patient.

Do I need a Consultation?
